The Competitive Side | SF

This is a breakdown of the completive side of SF.
-
When SF first started, there was only one server. Therefore both American and European players played together. This can be argued to be one of the best periods ever. Competition was high, creating experienced players and very enjoyable as all competitive players were playing in one channel. This was one of the most active points of SF, especially in 2008/2009 compared to now. When the European Server was introduced, Europeans moved over and it created smaller communities. This was seen as a good thing with Europeans now having their own server >> less lag, however combined with what some would say as “bad hosting and support for competitive players” from the hosts, competition and active players has died down over the years. Now it’s picking up again in anticipation of a much larger and better community with new host Aeria.

The Communities
-
European Community (Channel 12) This refer to the European players of SF. Consisting of many active players, they now boast advance and experienced players. The name "European Community" is associated with the competitive players but represent all European players. You won’t find them on the European Section of the IJJI Forums as they have created their own website www.eu-sf.com. It includes videos, competitions, tournaments, general threads, guides and much more… If you’re thinking of becoming a competitive player and your European here is where you start.
--
Note: This may change when the Host Aeria take over but I will update when it or if it happens.
--
America Community (Channel 10 Section or Channel 13 Section.) This refers to American & Canadian players and is inclusive of (other) players. Channel 10 is seen as the more competitive, experienced side/players compared to Channel 13. They are under clan chat on IJJI Fourms and also have competitions, tournaments, videos and much more

Tournaments Every year there are many tournaments and competitions for competitive players. A lot of tourneys are actually done by the players. Each year the host hold a national tournament and then provides a free trip to take part in the international tournament. This based on the winner of the national tournament. For the first time this year, Europeans were given the opportunity to participate and actually go to internats if they won.
-
Other tournaments are run throughout the year and feature many prizes such as G Coins e.t.c In 2011 the National Championship (Nationals): won by Optimal (America). Went onto SF Front World Championship to come 3rd and then to WCG Tourney.
These are the previous International Tournaments: http://wc.sfworldcup.com/en/main.asp

Becoming competitive players makes you a better player and improves your skills. Now FPS Games have set rules (which are usually based on the rules of the international tournament). This for SF
-
The Basics
-
Weapons The basic set is M4 | AK | PSG. This is what most, if not all serious competitive players’ use. You should definitely stick to one.
-

• Map 1: Red team will choose the map/side for the first map.
• Map 2: Blue team will choose the map/side for the second map.

Game SetUp
-

Maps allowed: Satellite, Nerve Gas, Hospital ,Desert Camp, Missile, Shanghai Plasma, Train, Bunker, CrossRoad
Ping Limit per person is 140. (This is for both communities.. This means if you have over 140 ping in any server, you're most likely going to be unable to scrim)
• Now “RE” Restarting occurs when people d/c (Disconnect) from the game. Here is the actual rule of when you can and cannot restart a game
--
--

"A re may occur when a team has lost a player only if it is still before the 4th round has begun. For example, if the scores like 2-0 1-1 , a re may be called. If it is 2-1, or 3-0, then the team must play on without their disconnected member. If they insist on calling a re and leave the room after this period, they forfeit the side with whatever rounds they had – for example, if the score is 3-0 and they all leave, it will count as 5-0 to your team. (Please try & take screenshots as evidence for this in the event of a dispute arising). If a tie occurs, a tie map should be agreed on by both clans. Each team stays on their current side.
-
-

If a clan needs to leave mid-scrim, they may ask for the result to be on pending. This is up to the other clan to agree or not. If they agree, the scrim can finished as a later date & it can be put in a pending section on your clan list. If they do not agree, then you must forfeit the scrim or finish it."
-
Things that are NOT allowed
-
• Glitching is NOT allowed
• Ghosting or POVing is not allowed ( This is keeping the camera or screen of a dead teammate to use for your advantage or poving your teammate to see around a corner e.t.c, even though people still do it)
• Light Map should be ON
• You should have a recording program such as Fraps, preloaded incase you’re asked to Fraps

-
