A.V.A - Xfire detect AVA | Updating

Many people have had this problem. For me, it was all fine before an update and I tried to use xfire in game because I wanted to keep updated with a ESL game. It didn’t detect. I searched for solutions and none of them seemed to work. I then realised a lot of people had the same problem. I eventually got it to work and thought I would share :)

#1 Solution
-
This is a much easier method and it worked for me.
-
1*) Take the whole IJJI Folder and copy it into the Reactor folder (under Program Files)
-
Then like the last part of the second solution
-
1) Open Xfire
-
2) Go to Tools > Options > Games
-
3) Once games are detected, scroll down to AVA under not installed TAB on the left.
-
4) Now it should already be on Auto Detect (doesn't matter if it aint)
-
5) Change it to Manual Detect
-
6) Click on Browse button underneath and follow the path for the game and it should now allow you to add both the steam and reactor AVA and detect it.
-
7) It should be fine now and go in game to test.
-
Note: #2 Solution
-
Now this is what I did at first, which didn’t work for me but I know it has worked for others. This is getting it detected manually. It would work for other games though but not for A.V.A
-
Here are the step:
-
1) First you need to change the A.V.A details
-
2) Go to your Computer Tab > C: Drive (or whatever letter yours is)
-
3) Press Alt > Tools > Folder Options > Click View > Select Show hidden files ….
-
4) Once you’ve done that go to Program Data which should now appear
-
5) Go to Xfire folder and open xfire_games (not bak)
-
6) Look for A.V.A by pressing Ctrl + F and search the name
-
7) Once you have found this you need to change the launch path.
-
8) Go to Program Files (x86) and follow the path to find the game.
-
9) Replace this with the original line
-
Second Part
-
1) Open Xfire
-
2) Go to Tools > Options > Games
-
3) Once games are detected, scroll down to AVA under not installed TAB on the left.
-
4) Now it should be on Auto Detect
-
5) Change it to Manual Detect
-
6) Click on Browse button underneath and follow the path for the game and it should be there
-
7) Click ok then let it redetect and it should have found it.

If you want a video tutorial, here it is:

Now this method didn’t work for me. I believe it is because of steam and reactor but it did work with another game I tried and also for my friend somehow…
-
Like me, others have got this message when I tried this method
-
“Cannot find E://REACTOR.exe
Cannot find E://Binaries/AVA.exe”

Now if you can’t update the game, you can do two things.
Manual patch or another method.
-
Manual Patch I tried and worked but really expect the game to update by itself. As I was new at the time (to the game) I didn’t really understand how it worked at first... I'm not going to explain but the basics of it is you download the files and place where they are suppose to be..
-
You can find threads such as this http://forums.ijji.com/showthread.php?t=1015455 which gives more detailed description.
-
For the current update, it didn’t work either. I simply deleted the AVA folder and let it re-install. It didn’t take long to download again (3-4 mins) but that is probably dependent on your Internet connection. I just didn’t have time to do a manual patch.

Hope that helps
